*being rather new to blogs, I am still surprised at how the definition of meme seems to have evolved into this narrow concept --- at least within this community. Memes are ideas that spread like a virus. (one example of how my husband is a geek: he told me about memes when we first met 18 years ago.) So I claim that Jaywalkers, cotton warsh-rags, Knitting Olympics, and other such ideas & practices that suddenly become very popular among knit-bloggers are just as much (if not moreso) memes as these writing prompts. Just a thought for all you folks thinking you're not meming.

See how ungeeky I am in my advancing years, I thought meme meant MeMeMeMe, as in Look At Me! :) Almost all the ones called out on blogs have blogger doing something that is all about them! Sheesh, how behind the times I am! ;)

...have THE blogger...

Sheesh, how I miss words in my typing. Sure wish we could edit these things!

I've always thought that it was an acronym for something. You are very right if that definition is the one that is being used though.

I thought it meant a "welcome back carter" kind of spring butt attention getter. A personal shoutout.

I find myself having to learn what the middle school bloggers/posters language means. Words I thought I knew, like "Tight, hoe, pimp, rent, ..." have new meanings.

Your turkey posts were mouth watering. I need to have a belated one, as we ate overpriced Paris cafe food on Turkey day. T
